Global footwear manufacturer Changshin (CEO Choongil Nam) held events on the 7th to mark International Women’s Day and promote the values of gender equality and inclusion, including a quiz event and a photo campaign featuring the official Women’s Day pose.
In line with this year’s slogan, Accelerate Action, announced by the International Women’s Day (IWD) organization, Changshin prepared a range of participatory programs to help employees reflect on and connect with the meaning of gender equality.
On the day, Changshin employees took part in the events, reflected on the meaning of International Women’s Day and shared the value of gender equality. In the photo zone, they struck the official one hand raised pose and took four-cut photo strips with colleagues. They also spent a meaningful time together sharing commemorative bread bearing International Women’s Day messages and cheered one another on in the company cafeteria.
Aside from commemorative events, Changshin is committed to the practical development of talent and continues to run education and support programs that strengthen women’s leadership and provide growth opportunities. In addition to customized in-house women’s leadership training and a mentoring system, the company encourages active participation in external leadership conferences and professional courses to help female talent build broader experience and networks. From 2021 to date, 58 female employees have participated in these external leadership conferences and training programs. Through this, Changshin is leading the way in expanding women’s leadership and establishing an inclusive corporate culture.
Going forward, Changshin plans to continue providing practical support for the growth and leadership development of female talent and to foster an environment where every employee can realize their full potential.
Women make up 81% of Changshin’s more than 70,000 employees worldwide and 56% of all managerial positions, and the company continues its efforts to provide fair opportunities for everyone and to build an inclusive organizational culture.
